Great Horned Wee Heavy available Friday, September 28th, 2018

We are excited to announce the next of our strong beers with the release of Great Horned, a Wee Heavy (or Scotch Ale). This beer features strong malt character from large amounts of Munich, Crystal, and more darkly-roasted barley varieties. With a prominent residual sweetness, Great Horned is a beer meant for sipping during the colder, Autumn evenings. The ABV of Great Horned comes in at 10.7%. Continue Reading

Kestrel with Mango releases on Friday, September 21, 2018

On Friday, September 21, 2018, we will release a batch of Kestrel with Mangos.

Kestrel is a Gose-style tart wheat beer brewed with a small amount of pink Himalayan sea salt and coriander seeds. After a brief souring period where we allow the acidity to develop, Kestrel is fermented with a clean ale yeast and then this batch was re-fermented on 42lbs of mango. The end result is a very tart, bright beer that exhibits subtle fruit character from the mangos. It’s a perfect beer for sipping on the porch at the end of the Kansas summer. Continue Reading

Wine Barrel Chickadee with Passionfruit releases on Friday, September 14th, 2018

On Friday, September 14th, 2018, at 1PM we will release cans of our first long-term barrel-aged sour beer.

Immediately after receiving our commercial brewing license, we brewed several batches of Chickadee and other beers that were destined to ferment and age in wine and whiskey barrels for 6-18 months.
