Last week I measured the SG of the farmhouse saison ale and the quad I brewed a few weeks ago with my brother and a few friends. The gravity was still higher than I wanted, but I wasn’t entirely sure if that was due to my using a refractometer instead of a hydrometer. Since the hydrometer showed up in the mail today, I was able to get an accurate reading. The FG came out to 1.010, which was just about perfect. It was actually a little lower than our original target FG, but our OG was a bit lower than targeted as well, so it was indeed time to bottle.
Update 11/22/2014: this is definitely one of the best beers I have brewed so far. It has a beautiful red tint, perfect head, and a nice hint of spice, almost flowery in nature.
